AFFORDABLE CARE ACT WEBSITE OPENS WITH A FEW GLITCHES

HealthCare.gov launched their second enrollment period under the Affordable Care Act on the 15th. It was meet with largely positive reviews, suffering from fewer log in jams and the frustration, which plagued consumers in 2013.

Interviews with two dozen consumers, federal officials, and enrollment aides nationwide showed that many consumers were able to create accounts within minutes instead of hours or weeks it took in 2013. Many of the site’s users said they got quick assistance and enroll plans despite some waits at call centers and few enrollment snags.

The smoother opening was a welcoming relief to the Obama administration, which have poured several resources into upgrading the HealthCare.gov website. 20,000 applications for 2015 health care coverage have been filled out on the website in eight after the website opened on Saturday.
