About myfloridachoices.org

Healthcare Gov Florida | myfloridachoices.org | Health Insurance Marketplace in Florida | Florida Health ChoicesThe state of Florida has been getting ready to launch an insurance exchange separate from Obamacare’s healthcare.gov. Florida Health Choices (myfloridachoices.org) is similarly designed to connect people to so far unspecified policies when it goes online soon.

Rose Naff, CEO of Florida Health Choices, said it will target small business owners and adults seeking gap coverage not provided by the federal health law or employer-sponsored plans, including adult dental care.

“The majority of Floridians are not buying on healthcare.gov. They’re buying in the private market, which is where we fit,” she said. “We’re not competing with the federal government.”

Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, the 77% of you living in Florida who have health insurance now have more choices and better coverage than ever before.

The Health Insurance Marketplace will make it easier for Floridians to compare qualified health plans, get answers to questions, find out if they are eligible for lower costs for private insurance or health programs like Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and enroll in health coverage. BUT it is not the ONLY choice. You should compare quotes from major health insurance companies apart from the Marketplace – they are still very competitive. Just use the inquiry box on top or bottom of this page.

92% of Florida’s uninsured and eligible population may qualify for either tax credits to purchase coverage in the Marketplace or for Medicaid if Florida takes advantage of the new opportunity to expand Medicaid coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

Florida has received $1,000,000 in grants for research, planning, information technology development, and implementation of the Health Insurance Marketplace in Florida.

New health insurance coverage options for young adults

Under the new health care law – if your plan covers children, you can now add or keep your children on your health insurance policy until they turn 26 years old. Thanks to this provision, over 3 million young people who would otherwise have been uninsured have gained coverage nationwide, including 224,000 young adults in Florida.

myfloridachoices.org or healthcare.gov are NOT the only options
