OREGON SHOWS LOW SIGN-UPS FOR HEALTHCARE COVERAGE
Roughly 1 in 10 residents of Oregon who previously enrolled in health care coverage via Cover Oregon have re-enrolled on the HealthCare.Gov website.
Residents of Oregon who previously enrolled in private plans via Cover Oregon must re-enroll on the Healthcare.gov website, they will not be automatically re-enrolled. If they do not re-enroll by Dec. 15th, they may face a break in their coverage in Jan, 2015. Oregon abandoned their troubled exchange last spring and they switch to the federal site.
Officials for cover Oregon announced that 7,000 residents have enrolled in private health insurance coverage on the website as of the end of November. Cover Oregon in 2014 saw 77,000 Oregonians enrolled in a private health care plan. Some of the residents who sign up for coverage on the Healthcare.gov website either had coverage elsewhere or may be newly insured.
