OREGON PLEDGES A MORE SMOOTH ENROLLMENT

As the start of the second open enrollment for ObamaCare nears, Oregon residents and officials say they will avoid enrollment disaster this time around.

When Oregon launched their exchange portal last year, it was a fiasco. Oregon was the only exchange in the U.S. that never fully launched and it did not let the public sign up for coverage in one sitting.

Instead, those in Oregon had to use a very time-consuming hybrid paper-online application process in order to sign up for health care coverage.

Oregon officials say applying for cover this year on the marketplace will be easier because Americans can now apply online, in one sitting. Currently, 36 states are using HealthCare.gov and Nevada and Oregon will join in soon.
