The Obama administration announced on Thursday that they have been over-reporting the number of Americans who signed up for the Affordable Care act.
A spokesman for the administration reported that the total count for the enrollment is about 400,000 people.
These Americans have separate dental coverage along with a medical plan, but were double-counted by accident. They purchased both a dental and medical plan under the Affordable Care Act and state insurance markets.
The correct number of Americans who enrolled in coverage is really 6.7 million instead of 7.4 million. The 8-million number was always estimated to go down, due to the fact it included consumers who have not yet sealed a deal by paying his or her first month’s premium.
