HEALTHCARE.GOV LAUNCHES WITH FEW GLITCHES WITH MORE OPTIONS IN NORTH CAROLINA

The Obama Administration launched a good first week of Healthcare.gov, which is a contrast to 2013’s rollout, which had several problems. Healthcare.gov’s first week of open enrollment saw 1.6 million Americans shopping for plans, with 1 million consumers submitted applications, and 462, 125 consumers selected plans. Residents of North Carolina, will see more competition in 2014. Joining Cocentry Health Care of the Carolinas and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of N.C. this year on North Carolina’s marketplace is UnitedHealthcare, which is the U.S.’s largest health insurer. According to the U.S. Health and Human Services Department, consumers are ready to receive coverage, and are visiting Healthcare.gov will see improved customer service, more competition, and affordable options.
