HEALTH CARE OPEN ENROLLMENT PUTS FOCUS BACK ON THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

One Pennsylvania resident is on the verge of losing his health insurance plan in 2015 because his plan does not meet ObamaCare’s minimum standards for medical coverage.  A comparable plan under the Affordable Care Act will cost this resident $1,800 a month, which is three times more than $588 he spends on single plans for himself and his spouse. As a result he is considering going without coverage.

Another American however; says they are having better experience are are thankful for the health care law.

They say the pay $30 less for coverage this year and has added prescription drug coverage, which they obtained by shopping on the healthcare’s website.

The impact of this law that has raised prices for some people, but has opened access to coverage for millions, will have renewed focus with open enrollment for the second year, only four weeks away.

Americans such the Pennsylvania will be faced with big price hikes, may opt to drop their insurance, but will be faced with a tax penalty. In 2015 the fines will be 2% of your household income or $325 per person, whichever is greater.
